“3D→2D” Printmaking Exhibition Opens to Art Enthusiasts
The printmaking exhibition titled “3D→2D” by Asst. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Korkmaz, a faculty member of the Department of Printmaking Arts, opened to art enthusiasts at the Balıkesir University Faculty of Fine Arts Taş Gallery on August 17, 2026. The exhibition, which will remain open to visitors until August 31, 2026, focuses on the relationship between three-dimensional production technologies and traditional printmaking methods.
The exhibition features artworks created by integrating print matrices produced via 3D printing technology with traditional printmaking processes. The production process—spanning from digital fabrication to the physical matrix, and from the physical matrix to the two-dimensional print—renders visible the novel relationships that contemporary technologies can establish with traditional art practices. “3D→2D” aims to present the audience with the creative and experimental possibilities of utilizing technological production tools within the discipline of printmaking.
