The 62nd anniversary of Library Week, traditionally celebrated across our country every year, was marked by various events organized by the Balıkesir University Directorate of Library and Documentation under the theme “The Healing Library.” Aimed at emphasizing the healing power of knowledge, the unifying role of libraries in society, and spreading the reading culture, the events concluded with an award ceremony held at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Central Library 15 July Martyrs Conference Hall.
Students who ranked in the events held throughout the week—namely “Share Your Idea, Catch the Award (Survey Raffle),” “Follow, Tag, Like and Win (Social Media Raffle),” “Bookworm (Most Books Borrowed),” “Digital Explorers (E-Resource Finding Competition),” “Our Library Through Your Eyes (Photography Competition),” and “Mystery of the Shelves (Book Finding Competition)”—received their awards at the ceremony.
The awards were presented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, Secretary General Yemliha Yanar, Head of the Library and Documentation Department Hasan Yetişir, as well as library personnel Instructor Süleyman Erdoğmuş, Librarian Gülcan Küçükgüreşgen, and Cemal Sarıdoğar.
