About the Faculty
Our faculty was established and operated between 2005 and 2020 in a historic building located in the city center. Since 2020, it has continued its educational and teaching activities in its new building within the Çağış campus.
The faculty currently hosts the Departments of Painting, Printmaking, Graphic Arts, Cartoon and Animation, and Sculpture, which continue their educational and teaching activities.
Additionally, under the Institute of Social Sciences, our faculty offers Master’s programs with thesis in the Departments of Painting and Printmaking, as well as a Proficiency in Art program in the Department of Painting.
History of the Faculty
Established in 2005, the Balıkesir Faculty of Fine Arts aims to educate successful artists and designers, as well as high-level professionals for the art and design sectors, who can elevate the artistic level of society to a global standard; possess developed awareness of art, culture, aesthetics, environment, and society; operate effectively at national and international levels; adopt contemporary, original, creative, free, and critical thinking; master technology; and establish interdisciplinary collaboration.
Since 2005, education at our faculty has been delivered with high quality, combining innovative, creative, and collaborative approaches with the values of academic freedom and originality. The curriculum integrates theoretical, practical, and workshop-based training, delivered by an expert academic staff whose work has gained international recognition in the field of art.
At our faculty, the academic staff, administrative personnel, and students engage in educational and teaching activities with mutual respect and care, operating within a discipline based on collaborative teamwork and harmonious interaction.
